How do you listen?

Do you listen to others to learn about them, to learn what they are saying, feeling and needing OR do you listen to talk, to tell your story, to tell your complaint, to tell your own thoughts?  Most everyone listens to talk next.  We are all guilty here.

Communication Confidence builds on the premise that we first “listen to learn, to have compassion, to know the other person” and it also builds on the premise that through coaching you are already practicing listening to your inner self, and are assured that you are self caring and self aware and have little need to over power anyone again with your talking to talk.

People skills are essential to be happy as a human at work or at home.  Have you checked on your people skills today?  We want to help you communicate confidently and it begins with an intent to make yourself aware of exactly what kind of a communicator you are.  You might say, hey, I am doing o.k. However, what if you turned it around and took a poll of your peers. to see what kind of a communicator they think you are.

If you have the courage to learn, change and grow, you will take on this task of discovery.  Be ready though, you may hear things you never expected nor wanted to hear.  However, if you are willing to be better at your people skills, take the risk, take the information  from your friends and advisers in good humor, and then see if you can bring new value to other people with your fresh new people awareness skills.
